Brendan Allison,
Cognitive Science,
UC San Diego,
This talk will present the current state-of-the-art in brain-computer interface (BCI) systems and emerging directions. The talk will review different approaches to BCIs, methods to sense brain activity, real-time signal processing, and output devices. Next, emerging directions such as BCIs for patients with stroke or disorders of consciousness will be presented. Potential future user groups will also be addressed, including gaming and other possible applications for healthy users. The talk will include a live demonstration of current BCI technology.
