Rapporteur for Quantum Computation

Professor John Preskill has also been selected as the Rapporteur for quantum computation at the 25th Solvay Conference on Physics. This conference, "The Theory of the Quantum World" chaired by David Gross, will recognize the 100th anniversary of the inaugural Solvay conference held in 1911. Preskill will be joined by fellow Rapporteurs Anthony Leggett (quantum foundations), Ignacio Cirac and Steven Girvin (control of quantum systems), Subir Sachdev (quantum condensed matter), Frank Wilzcek (particles and fields), Edward Witten (string theory), and Alan Guth (cosmology).
