Caltech's Center for the Mathematics of Information (CMI) announces openings in the CMI Postdoctoral Fellowship Program, for positions beginning in Fall 2022. The CMI is dedicated to fundamental mathematical research with an eye to the roles of information and computation throughout science and engineering. Areas of interest include algorithms, complexity, cryptography, applied combinatorics, applied probability & stochastic processes, statistics & machine learning, information & coding theory, control & dynamical systems, optimization, networked systems, autonomous systems, geometry processing, formal verification, and multiresolution methods. As an integral part of their postdoctoral training CMI postdocs may, if they would like to, teach a course with the permission of the department.

The research statement should contain a section that addresses past and/or potential contributions to diversity, equity, and inclusion (e.g., mentoring activities, committee service, research, or teaching activities).
